A commission is a fun and exciting process resulting in a personal, meaningful, irreplaceable sculpture containing your memories, love and dreams.
.
Testimonial:
Susan is a rare blend of artistic ability, professionalism, creativity, experienced judgment, and ability to collaborate. Over a number of months, she worked with me to bring an initial concept for a sculpture, for an anniversary gift for my wife, to a successful finish. Susan was always willing to adapt direction for the piece, but also brought her own creativity and judgment to bear. She spent a good deal of effort planning, designing, communicating, and of course shaping the sculpture. The result of all her effort was an amazingly realistic, delicate pair of white roses, in a lovely abstracted nature setting -- and my wife was delighted. I cannot recommend Susan highly enough -- she is both an artist and a professional, and creates beautiful and unique work.

Roses are boundless in their variety, beauty and meaning in our lives. Roses inspire me endlessly.
Technique:
Creating a roses is a labor intensive process. Each petal has to be cut individually then heat-formed in the kiln before the process of shaping the rose begins. Many glass working processes are used to develop the roses.
Materials:
Kiln-formed glass, etched mirror, slumped glass, etched copper.
The copper leaves are hand-cut, etched and hand-formed.
